FBA is inviting people who live, work or play in central Queensland to share a photo that captures the beauty, character and spirit of the region. Whether it’s a breathtaking landscape, life on the land, or a moment that feels unmistakably CQ, we want to see your backyard through your lens.
You don’t need professional equipment to enter. Whether you shoot with a camera or your phone, this is your chance to put your photography on show and share what CQ looks like to you.

How to enter
Enter the Your Backyard Photo Competition in 3 easy steps:

Select a photo that captures our backyard in CQ - from coast to country, people to places, or life on the land.
2. Complete the entry form
Fill out your details so we can contact you if your entry is selected.
3. Upload and submit
Upload your photo before 30 April to be in the running to win.

Our panel of three judges will be looking for images that are creative, original and high quality, with strong composition and a clear story or sense of place that captures central Queensland in a visually striking and meaningful way.
Yes! You can enter as many times as you like. One photo = one entry.
It’s not about the camera, it’s about the photo. Whether an image is taken on a phone or a DSLR, judging will focus on creativity, originality, composition, quality and storytelling.
Yes. By entering, you grant FBA permission to use your submitted photo for promotional and marketing purposes. While entrants retain ownership of their photographs, submitted images may be featured on FBA’s website, social media and other promotional materials. Refer to the full competition T&Cs here.
