Protecting lives, property and businesses from fire | Nebo event

Fire Management Plans protect lives and livelihoods. It is important that CQ land managers review and update their fire management plans.

The hands-on workshop in Nebo is the second part of a two-part education series. They are designed to help CQ land managers develop a customised property plan, get the latest localised information and gain confidence in preventing and preparing for bushfires.

Come along to learn…

  • How to reduce bushfire threats on your property
  • How to balance fire management and productivity
  • What fire control methods are best for your property
  • Controlled burning techniques as recommended fire regimes
  • How to understand fire – how fire moves and interacts with different climates and vegetation

Plus get free large-scale maps of your property and support to create your own Fire Management Plan.

Got a question?

This is your chance to chat with representatives from FBA, Queensland Fire and Emergency Services, local government, and Queensland Parks and Wildlife Services. Join ecologists, environmental scientists and land management experts.

“This was a simple and quick way to get our fire management plan updated and out of our heads. Fire moves quickly, knowing that we’re taken proactive steps and we’re on the same page if a fire starts gives me peace.”
