Great Barrier Reef Foundation Overview – Ana Perez
On behalf of the Great Barrier Reef Foundation, Associate Director for Water Health, Ana Perez will present the Foundation’s areas of investment that have been identified to reduce the load of priority pollutants that flow from the catchments to the Reef.

These series of interventions will be implemented as part of the Water Quality Component of the Reef Trust Partnership – a $443 million grant from the Australian Government over six years.

Fitzroy Region Partners Overview – Elyse Riethmuller (Fitzroy Basin Association), Glenn Dale (Verterra), Phillip Jeston (Catchment Solutions), Sean Hoobin (Greening Australia)
The Fitzroy region has received $19.6 million through the Great Barrier Reef Foundation to improve degraded landscapes. Fitzroy Basin Association, Verterra, Catchment Solutions and Greening Australia are delivering the GBRF program that will run until June 2024.

The four delivery partners will soon commence a range of on-ground works including gully and streambank restoration, rock formation/chutes and tree and groundcover rehabilitation. Approximately $7 million will be awarded to successful tenders. Learn more about these upcoming tender opportunities and how your business can be invovled.

Capricorn Enterprise Update
Commissioned by Capricorn Enterprise and developed in partnership with Australian-based developer, uWorkin, Work in Central Queensland is a valuable tool that delivers smart matching of interested talent and localisation of jobs, skills and capital, demonstrates benefits for a myriad of people from job seekers, employment-focused community groups, training organisations, councils and employers of all sizes.
The Work in Central Queensland platform is more than just a job hub, offering value-packed fact sheets, a community notice board containing the latest regional news and information, local employer profiles and the opportunity for jobs seekers to build their own AirCV.

Rookwood Weir Project Update
The Rookwood Weir and Associated Infrastructure project involves the construction of a new water storage facility on the Fitzroy River approximately 66 kilometres south-west of Rockhampton. Funded by the Federal and State Governments, the $352.2 million project is entering its “construction phase” following the completion of associated infrastructure.

ASMTI Shoalwater Bay Training Area Project Overview
The Shoalwater Bay ASMTI Project is an $800 million investment in upgrading the training facilities at this strategic training area, being Project Managed by Laing O’Rourke.
Formally commencing in 2019 the Project is scheduled for completion in late 2024.
The Laing O’Rourke project update is specifically targeted to regional Contractors and associated Industries seeking to be involved in the next phase of Work Packages.
