Recovering from flooding at Dangarfield

Dangarfield is the jewel in the crown of Dangarfield Cattle Company’s operations, which includes five properties in the Taroom – Wandoan area.
Fourth generation grazier Ben Adams owns and operates Dangarfield, which has been in his family since 1947.
This video shares Ben’s story, and the work he was funded by FBA to do to restore his landscape.

Spray rig improvements through Grains BMP

Doing Grains Best Management Practices (BMP) enabled Carmel and Kevin O’Keeffe to successfully apply for funding to upgrade their spray rig and install GPS. The result is a much better performing machine that saves the family time, and saves the reef!
The O’Keeffes run a cropping enterprise near Emerald on the central highlands.

The everyday actions of people in the Fitzroy Basin and coastal catchments are helping protect the Great Barrier Reef and improve its resilience to climate change. This video was put together through the join efforts of the Fitzroy Basin Association Inc. and the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority, with support from the community groups, schools and individuals featured to provide a snapshot of the kind of work we can all get involved in to care for the reef.
