Sheree Shares her Passion for Working with Rural Communities

Based at FBA’s Emerald office, Land Management Officer Sheree Johnston is helping shape the future of sustainable agriculture.

Sheree’s days are spent working side-by-side with growers and graziers enhancing the sustainability, productivity, and profitability of their businesses.

Sheree is also FBA’s Sustainable Agriculture Facilitator. This role sees her connect farmers, land managers, community groups and agriculture industries with climate-smart practices, foster partnerships, and support local sustainable agriculture projects.

For Sheree, no two days working with land managers in rural communities are ever the same.

“It’s brilliant because the people are brilliant,” she said. “The people I work with are down to earth, very proactive. I love my job. I am very lucky.”

Sheree has been with FBA for three “wonderful” years.

With more than 20 years of experience in the Agriculture Industry and a childhood on a property near Tamworth, Sheree is no stranger to the land. “It’s in my blood,” Sheree says.

She now lives in Springsure on a small block of land with her family, where she’s been for over 20 years.

“I love the community in Springsure,” she said. “It’s a great place to bring up kids. We’re still here and I reckon we’ll be here a while longer.”

Sheree said working at FBA provides her a unique opportunity to use her passion for agriculture to help shape a sustainable future for generations to come.

“I’m proud to be a part of FBA.”
