FBA highlights achievements in 2014-15 Annual Report

As FBA Board Chair Ian MacGibbon reflected on the year he took pride in the resilience of our community.
It was another tough year for our landholders with dry conditions continuing in the west and widespread destruction caused along the coast and in the lower Fitzroy and Dawson catchments by Tropical Cyclone Marcia.
While recovery from Cyclone Marcia is ongoing we were very pleased to see that our recovery works (supported by FBA through funding from the Queensland
Government) after Ex-Tropical Cyclone Oswald survived. This was a great achievement for the landholders, FBA and our region’s waterways as soil and other
farming infrastructure remained on farm.
FBA Chief Executive Officer Paul Birch said 2014–15 has been another outstanding year for FBA and our network of delivery partners, with FBA again exceeding our targets.
Over $14M was invested in the region in 2014–15 to care for our region’s waterways, improve water quality, support best management practices, protect threatened or endangered species and manage feral animals and weeds.
We are very proud of what we have been able to achieve for our region by working in partnership with our delivery partners, landholders, traditional owners, community and industry groups, local government, waterway health partnerships, researchers, field experts and local schools through funding from Australian and Queensland Government programs.
