Team Turtle CQ Monitoring Program 2023-24 Results

Volunteer conservation group Team Turtle CQ (TTCQ) monitored marine turtle activity along the Capricorn and Curtis Coasts throughout the 2023-24 breeding season.

During the season TTCQ reported 599 tracks – 589 flatbacks, 6 greens and 4 loggerheads for a total of 431 confirmed nests!

Data collected by TTCQ is submitted to the Department of Environment and Science, who manage the Queensland Turtle Conservation Program database, which informs and influences coastal management and threat mitigation for marine turtle species.

The below report summarises the results of the 2023-2024 Team Turtle CQ program.
