Turtle Hour
Support Team Turtle CQ and turn off your lights to celebrate and protect our local marine turtles!
Marine turtles will soon arrive on Capricorn Coast beaches to lay their eggs. Light from houses, neighbourhoods and business creates a collective glow that can stop mother turtles from nesting and prevent hatchlings from reaching the ocean. Turtle Hour encourages residents and businesses to turn off their lights for one hour to help these threatened species.
