8th International Symposium on Gully Erosion
The 8th International Symposium on Gully Erosion will be held in Townsville, Australia on 21-27 July 2019.
Townsville is Australia’s largest tropical city and adjacent to the Great Barrier Reef. This will be the first ISGE in the southern hemisphere.
Gully erosion is recognized around the globe as a major source of sediment to stream systems, and a significant natural hazard that can be accelerated by climate change, extreme climate events, and human land-use activities that lead to land degradation.
The ISGE conference series brings together established and emerging researchers to share and discuss recent insights into:
- Gully erosion causes, characteristics, behaviour and processes
- Experimental and measurement techniques
- Modelling and prediction
- Management and rehabilitation
- Social and economic effects
This will be the first ISGE in the southern hemisphere – come on down under! Townsville is Australia’s largest tropical city and adjacent to the Great Barrier Reef.
