Daniel Yates
Dan is a senior risk management executive, EMBA and GAICD qualified with a Graduate Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety Management.
Dan has been involved in all aspects of mining operations from asset purchase and start up through to expansion and new projects. At each and every stage he has delivered significant and sustainable reductions in the operational risk profile of the organisation; leading teams and driving outcomes.
The key to all his achievements has been his belief in the need for deep investment in people with a focus on creating the right environment for them to succeed.
Dan has enjoyed a diverse career, beginning 25 years ago as an underground miner at Mt Isa Mines and Mines Rescue. In these early days he transitioned from mainstream mining roles into emergency services, and the last 14 years has worked in Health, Safety and Environment Management. Since 2004 Dan has held a number of management roles covering health, safety, environment, community, training and media management.
The key mandate and focus of these roles has been the development and implementation of strategies and business systems that manage risk across all levels of the organisation.
