Farnborough Beach Dune Restoration

Four-wheel-drives and wind have contributed to significant amounts of erosion at Farnborough Beach and Corio Bay.
Fitzroy Basin Association Inc. (FBA), Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service (QPWS) and Greening Australia have collaborated to protect the integrity of these dunes, which play home to dozens of threatened species, particularly migratory birds.
Measures included blocking existing 4WD access points and extensive weed control.
