Giant rat’s tail grass (GRT) is an aggressive weed that many central Queensland land managers struggle to control.
This workshop will focus on methods and chemicals that work on CQ grazing properties.
Come along and learn:
• how to identify GRT on your property
• what chemicals will get the best results
• how grazing practices can stop GRT from spreading
• what’s worked on other local properties and why
Guest Speakers
Ross Newman
Born and bred in Rockhampton, Ross has worked with tropical and subtropical pasture system agronomy for the past two decades. This work has taken Ross to every mainland state in Australia and internationally to gain a wealth of experience surrounding pasture productivity, management, and identifying potential solutions to commonly occurring problems with grazing systems.
Kerrie Sagnol
With experience in grazing, pasture and soil management, Kerrie understands the importance of a holistic approach for achieving productive and healthy agricultural landscapes. Kerrie helps landholders with herbicide selection and application methods as part of their broader strategy for tackling issues such as GRT and woody weeds.
