Help protect, restore and enhance our local pandanus population!

An introduced species is killing this iconic species along our coastline. Come along to one of our two planting events and help pandanus suffering in your backyard!

Pandanus trees provide many ecological services, including stabilising dunes and providing habitat and food for native species.

Join either event to learn about:

• The local pandanus dieback situation and Byfield infestation
• The ecological function of pandanus in coastal ecosystems
• The biocontrol methods being used to manage this issue
• Population and restoration methods

Events include:

• Educational session
• Direct seed planting

The guest presenter – Joel Fostin

Joel Fostin is the leading specialist, educator, researcher and advocate for the prevention of Pandanus Dieback. Working across coastal eastern Australia, Joel has upskilled and empowered many community members and councils to join his mission to manage and prevent
pandanus dieback.

When – Saturday, 9 April |8am – 10am
Where – Fisherman’s Beach, Emu Park (meet at Emu Park Bowls Club, Pattison St)

Please bring a water bottle, sunscreen and insect repellent. Wear long pants, closed shoes and a hat.
